Who we are
Open Window (“Open Window,” “we,” “us”) operates the website at openwindowmedicare.live. We are a private company that provides free educational content about Medicare enrollment timing and a referral service that connects interested visitors with independent insurance agents and organizations. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the U.S. government or the federal Medicare program, and we are not an insurance carrier, agent or broker.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Information you give us, for example when you complete the request form: name, phone number, email address, ZIP code, date of birth or age range, and answers about your coverage situation.
- Information from your device, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Information stored on your device. The checklist tool saves your ticked items in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Please do not enter your Social Security number, Medicare Number, bank details or health records in any form on this site; we do not need them to respond to your request.
How we use information
We use information to respond to your request, to match it with partners that may serve your location, to operate and improve the site, to prevent fraud and abuse, to measure the performance of our content and advertising, and to comply with the law.
Sharing with partners and marketers
If you submit a request form and consent, we share the information in that request with independent insurance agents, agencies and related organizations (“partners”) so they can contact you about plan options. Our partners page lists organizations that may receive requests; the list can change. Partners handle information under their own privacy policies. We may also share information with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, analytics, form processing), with advertising and analytics vendors as described in the cookies section, in connection with a business transfer, or when required by law. We do not sell information collected through the checklist or other tools you use without submitting a form.
Your consent to be contacted (TCPA)
When you submit the request form, you may be asked to agree that we and our partners may contact you by phone call, text message and email, including through automated technology and prerecorded or artificial voices, at the number and address you provided, even if it is on a state or national Do Not Call list. Consent is not a condition of purchasing any product or service. Message and data rates may apply, and you can revoke consent at any time by replying STOP to a text, telling the caller to stop, or emailing us at the address below. The exact consent language is shown next to the form and controls in the event of any difference.
Cookies and similar technologies
We and our vendors may use cookies, pixels and similar tools to remember preferences, understand traffic, and measure advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can use browser or device settings to limit tracking. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Your choices and opt-out
- Marketing contact: ask any partner who contacts you to stop, or email us and we will pass your request to partners where we can.
- Email: use the unsubscribe link in any message.
- Text: reply STOP.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: where required by law we treat a valid opt-out preference signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing.
California and other state privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
Residents of California and certain other states may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose and share; to request deletion or correction; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit use of sensitive personal information; and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Sharing your request with partners at your direction may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under some laws. To exercise your rights, email privacy@openwindowmedicare.live with the subject “Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity, and you may use an authorized agent. We will respond within the time required by law.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, then delete or de-identify it. We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Third-party sites
Our pages link to resources such as Medicare.gov and partner sites. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
